Our story

Why we started Lovon

Lovon was born from a very personal place.

Our founders went through their own relationship crisis. It was painful and confusing, and it showed just how hard it can be to find the right help at the right time. Traditional therapy was expensive, slow to access, and often not designed for people who are constantly on the move or living across countries.

Before Lovon, our team built consumer apps that reached millions of people around the world. Along the way, we noticed something important: couples were some of the most engaged and loyal users. People wanted tools that helped them feel closer, not just entertained.

Lovon combines these two stories — personal experience and product experience — into one vision: an AI Therapist that is always there for you and your relationships, wherever you are.

What we learned
  • Getting help shouldn't require waiting weeks for an appointment.
  • Support has to fit into real life — travel, distance, and busy schedules.
  • Technology can help people feel closer, not just more distracted.
Our vision

Build an AI Therapist that feels warm, grounded, and available in the moments you actually need it.

About us

What Lovon actually does

Lovon is an AI Therapist you talk to through voice calls on your phone — you speak, it listens and responds like a human therapist would.

Lovon helps you:

  • Process stress, anxiety, and emotional overload.
  • Work through conflicts with your partner, family, or friends.
  • Understand recurring patterns in your relationships.
  • Prepare for difficult conversations and decisions.

How a Lovon call works

1

You start talking.

You share what's going on — a fight, a heavy week, or something you're worried about.

2

Lovon reflects and clarifies.

It mirrors back what it hears and helps you name feelings and patterns.

3

You leave with next steps.

Lovon suggests questions, perspectives, or small actions you can try after the call.

Sessions are on-demand, so you can talk to Lovon late at night, between meetings, or when something just happened.

Lovon isn't here to replace human therapists — it's here to give you high-quality emotional support in between sessions, late at night, or when traditional therapy simply doesn't fit your life.

Clinical expertise

Built on clinical experience, guided by science

Behind Lovon stands a scientific advisor with decades of experience in clinical psychology and relationship therapy — Daniel Kriegman, Ph.D., a clinical psychologist and evolutionary biologist.

He has:

  • Led treatment teams in high-security clinical settings.
  • Taught at psychoanalytic and university programs.
  • Co-authored influential work on how our minds are shaped by evolution and relationships.
  • Advised on the acclaimed docu-series "Couples Therapy" (Showtime).

His work helps us design Lovon in a way that respects the complexity of human relationships, emotional safety, and long-term growth — not just quick "hacks" or feel-good tips.

Our principles

Safety first

We continuously improve how Lovon handles sensitive topics, crises, and high-risk situations.

Respect for complexity

Real relationships are messy; we avoid oversimplified "one-size-fits-all" advice.

Continuous learning

We use anonymized patterns, feedback, and research to make Lovon more helpful over time.

Impact

The impact we're working toward

Every week, people use Lovon to get through arguments, anxiety spikes, sleepless nights, and big life decisions.

R

They come back

Return for another call

Many people come back for a second call, similar to how they'd return to a human therapist.

W

Not just crises

Use Lovon weekly

People make multiple calls per week, not just "once in a crisis".

They feel better

Leave the call lighter

On average, users report feeling better at the end of a call than they did at the start.

I used Lovon after a fight with my partner, and it helped me calm down enough to actually talk instead of shut down.

We see this as just the beginning. Our ambition is to support tens of millions of people and couples worldwide — and to meaningfully improve how they feel about themselves and their relationships.

After going through my own relationship crisis, I became obsessed with one question: how can technology actually help people feel closer and more understood, instead of more isolated?
