What this means

Most of the signs in your answers suggest your ex has largely moved on. Contact is rare, mostly practical, or mostly started by you. Their tone has become friendly and polite rather than warm or charged, and memories you share rarely come up. When they hear about your life now, they seem fine with it. Friends say they seem okay. They may be dating, and when you run into each other, it is an ordinary, short catch-up.

That is painful to read, so it is worth saying clearly: this does not mean you meant nothing to them. Most people keep some fondness for someone they loved, and your ex may still feel a pang now and then. But those feelings no longer seem to be steering what they do. Their life has started to move in a direction that does not center on you.

What it does not mean

It does not mean the relationship was not real, or that you were easy to get over. People move on at very different speeds. The person who ended things has often done much of their grieving before the breakup, while the other person is only starting. If your ex made the decision, the two of you may simply be on different clocks.

It also does not mean nothing could ever change. People sometimes reconnect after a long gap, usually because something real shifted in their own life. That kind of change comes from them, though, not from a message or strategy of yours, and any plan that promises to make someone fall back in love is selling hope. If you want to understand when exes return and when they do not, do exes come back is an honest look at it.

The signs that are left

If a few of your answers pointed the other way, such as a kind message on your birthday or a friend saying your ex asked how you are, it is natural to hold on to them. Try to give them the weight they deserve and no more. Remembering your birthday and asking how you are is what a decent person who once loved you does. It is kindness, and kindness is not the same as longing.

And what do you want?

When someone seems to have moved on, it is easy to want them more, precisely because they are drifting away. So ask yourself honestly whether you want this person as they are now, or the version of them from the best months. And ask whether it is them you miss, or what you felt with them: chosen, close, part of a pair. Those needs are real, and this one person is not the only way to meet them.

Why do I miss my ex explains why the missing can stay strong even when you know it is over, and the do I miss my ex or am I just lonely quiz shows where the ache is pointing. If part of you still hopes to get back together, the should I get back with my ex quiz checks that hope against the reasons it ended.

What to do next

Stop collecting evidence. Looking at their profiles, asking friends what they said, and rereading old messages keep you living in their life instead of yours. If you have been reaching out and getting short replies, you are allowed to be the one who stops first.

Take some real space. A stretch of no contact is not a trick to make them miss you. It lets your own feelings settle so you can hear them. The no contact plan builder helps you set one up, including what to do when the urge to text arrives at 11 p.m.

Give the unsaid words somewhere to go. Much of the pull to reach out is made of things you never got to say. Writing them all down and not sending them takes some of that pull away. The unsent letter to your ex walks you through it one prompt at a time.

If they reach out, answer as yourself. Warm and brief is enough. If they bring up the two of you, you can ask what has changed for them, and you can take a few days before you answer.

Fill the coming weeks with things that are yours: people who are good for you, sleep, movement, something you used to enjoy and dropped. Moving on does not mean you stop caring. It means your days stop revolving around their signals.

If you want to talk through the grief or the urge to reach out, Lovon, an AI relationship coach you talk to by voice, can help you think it through without judgment.

From the wiki

The fourteen questions on this quiz are written by Lovon around signs people commonly weigh when they wonder whether an ex still has feelings: how and when it ended, contact, tone, shared memories, reactions to your new life, behavior in person, belongings, days that matter, what mutual friends say, new partners, and how things have changed over time. It is not a validated psychological measure, and there are no research norms behind the scores.

Your result describes the signs you reported, not your ex's actual feelings or intentions, and it is not a prediction that they will or will not come back. Only your ex can tell you what they feel.
