Before you start

Ask a couple why they work and you usually get a list. Same humor, same shows, same idea of a good weekend. That list is what most people mean by compatibility, and it is the least useful part. A compatibility test is only worth your time if it looks past it. Shared taste carries the first months. It does not explain why one couple with little in common stays steady for years while another pair who match on paper keep having the same argument.

1

Shared interests are a starting point, not a foundation

Interests tell you what you enjoy doing together. Compatibility tells you what happens when you are not doing anything fun. The hour after a fight. The money conversation neither of you wants to start. That is where two people either fit or grind.

Interests also change. A hobby you bond over now may be gone in a few years, and the relationship can outlast it. How you treat each other on a bad night tends to stay.

2

How compatible are we? Four areas, not a hundred

You could rate a couple on a hundred traits, but most sit downstream of a few. This quiz uses four because ordinary problems keep pointing back to them: how safe you feel getting close, how you talk about hard things, whether you want the same life, and what happens after you disagree.

An argument about dishes is rarely about dishes. Different sleep schedules are a logistics problem when those four are solid, and a stand-in for everything else when one is not.

3

Two kinds of gaps: skills and directions

Some of what you score low on is behavior. Staying in a hard conversation instead of leaving. Asking for something before it turns into resentment. Apologizing in a way that lands. None of it is inborn. People learn it late and it still works.

The rest is not behavior. Kids or no kids. Which city. What money is for. No skill turns one answer into the other, and trying anyway can quietly eat years. What helps is saying early what you will not trade away. Knowing which pile a problem sits in changes what you do about it.

4

Compatibility is not a permanent label

Where you land today reflects this stretch of your life: a rough season, a hard job. It moves when your circumstances do, and when either of you works at it. Two people can be a rough match one year and a better one later, and it runs the other way too. A low area is a place to start, not a prediction of how this ends.

If you want to talk it through, Lovon is a private voice AI companion for relationship questions, available any hour, drawing on CBT and EFT, developed with PhD psychologists. It is not a replacement for a licensed therapist.

This quiz asks how the relationship is doing. If the question you actually have is whether the two of you want the same shape of life, the compatibility test walks the fifteen structural things instead — money, children, location, family, faith.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does this compatibility quiz take?

Plan on about three minutes. You rate 15 short statements from strongly disagree to strongly agree, based on how true each one feels right now. They cover four areas: closeness and security, how you talk to each other, what you each want long term, and the way you two handle disagreements. Your answers place you in one of five result tiers, each with suggested next steps.

Can a quiz actually tell if you are compatible?

No quiz can decide that for you, and this one does not try. Compatibility is not a score, and nothing here predicts whether you will last. Rating the same 15 statements separates the parts that already run smoothly from the ones that keep generating the same argument, so the two of you have a specific topic to open instead of a mood to argue about.

Should your partner take the quiz too?

You can do it alone and still learn something. It often works better when you each answer on your own first, then compare. Matching ratings show where you already agree; gaps point to the exact topic worth a calm talk. If starting that talk feels hard, Lovon gives you a private voice companion to think out loud with, any time.

Do I have to hand over anything to see the full result?

No. You can take it and read the full result without signing up for anything. Your answers stay in your own browser rather than on our servers, which is also why you can close the tab and come back to where you left off. Nothing is held back behind a form and nothing unlocks later.

What if we land in a low tier?

Take it as one snapshot, not a verdict. A low tier usually means several areas need attention at once, which is heavy but not the same as doomed. Read the next steps, and consider bringing what you noticed to a couples therapist or another licensed professional, especially if you feel unsafe or stuck. A quiz cannot replace that kind of help.
