Attachment Trigger Plan for Anxious and Avoidant Patterns
Pick your pattern, tick the moments that set it off, and finish one card for each: your body signal, the thing you will not do for twenty minutes, and what you say instead. No sign-up, nothing stored.
Step 1
Which one sounds like you?
You pick this yourself. Nothing here works it out for you. If you want a longer read on it first, the attachment style quiz takes about three minutes.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is an attachment trigger?
A specific moment that flips your relationship alarm on. Not a mood, a moment: the reply that has not come, the plan that moved, the weekend that went well and left you wanting out. Anxious patterns tend to fire on distance, avoidant ones on closeness, and fearful-avoidant on both. Naming it narrowly is the point, because a narrow trigger is one you can see coming.
What if I do not know my attachment style?
Choose the last option, Not sure yet, and work from the mixed list of moments. Most people recognize the situation long before they recognize the label, and the plan hangs off the situation rather than the name, so it works either way. If you would rather have the label first, the attachment style quiz on this site takes about three minutes.
Why twenty minutes and not ten, or an hour?
Twenty is long enough for the physical surge to come down and short enough that you will actually wait it out. The exact number matters less than picking one in advance. Ten tends to end while your hands are still going. An hour quietly turns into avoiding the conversation. If twenty feels impossible in the moment, take five and count that as a win.
Do I need an account, and is anything saved?
No account, and nothing is saved. Everything you type stays in the browser tab and goes when you close it, so there is nothing stored and nothing sent anywhere. That does mean you have to copy or screenshot your cards before you leave the page. They will not be waiting for you when you come back to it.
Does writing a plan actually change anything?
Not on its own. Deciding in advance what you will do instead is a well-worn technique, because it beats deciding while your heart is going, but a card does not undo a pattern built over years. Treat it as the part you can do this week. If the same fight keeps landing in the same place, a licensed therapist who works with attachment is the better next step.
