AI Breakup Coach

This is a free AI breakup coach you can use right on this page. Tell it how long ago it ended, who ended it and what is hardest right now, and it gives you an honest read, two or three next steps in your voice, and what to leave alone. It is an AI, not a person, it will not promise anyone comes back, and there is no sign-up.

I am an AI breakup coach. Tell me how long ago it ended, who ended it, and what is hardest right now: wanting to reach out, a text from them, the nights, or not knowing whether you even want them back. I will not tell you they are coming back, but I will help you work out what you want and what to do next.

An AI, not a person. It will not promise anyone comes back, and it cannot send anything to anyone.

This is support, not therapy, and it is not a diagnosis. If you are in immediate danger call 911. If you are having thoughts of harming yourself, call or text 988 in the US for the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline. If you are afraid of a partner, the National Domestic Violence Hotline is 1-800-799-7233, or text START to 88788.

Want to keep going without a session limit? The Lovon app is the same approach, any hour.

A lot of breakup coaching is sold as a package of calls, often on one promise: that you can get them back. This is a chat on the page instead, with nothing to book, and it does not make that promise. It helps you work out what you actually want, and what to do tonight and on the days that hit harder than the rest.

It is an AI. It knows only what you type here, and it has never met your ex. There is no account to create, and the conversation disappears from this page when you close the tab.

1

What the chat does with your situation

It starts with where you are, because the same urge means different things at different points. Wanting to text someone nine days after they ended three years is a different question from wanting to text someone two months after a breakup you both half chose. Who ended it matters, and so does whether you still share a lease, a dog or friends.

Then it separates what you know from what you are guessing. You know they have not posted in a week. You are guessing they are struggling too. It only has your side, so anything it says about what your ex feels or plans is labeled as a guess.

After that come two or three next steps, or words you could send, written to sound like you. Then what not to do, and one question back.

2

Situations people bring to it

The first days. Not sleeping, not eating, rereading the thread. It keeps this practical: what to do with tonight, who to tell, what to put out of sight.

Whether to reach out at all. It asks what you want the message to do before it writes one. If you decide to stay away, the no contact plan turns that into rules for your riskiest hours. If you decide to send something, what to text your ex drafts it.

They texted you. A "hope you are okay" after a month of silence, or a long message at midnight. It helps you decide whether and how to answer without reading a reunion into four words. If the message was the breakup itself, use how to respond to a breakup text.

The replay at night. It will not tell you to just stop thinking about it; it helps you give the thought somewhere to go. For some people, an unsent letter to your ex does that better.

The dates that ambush you. Their birthday, your anniversary, the first holiday apart: whether to send anything, and what to do with the day instead.

Seeing them with someone new. It does not pretend this does not hurt, and it does not treat a new partner as a verdict on you.

Deciding whether to try again. It looks at why it ended and what has actually changed, not at how much you miss them. The should I get back with my ex quiz asks the same questions in order.

Getting back to an ordinary week. Sleep, friends, the things you stopped doing. For the longer arc, getting over someone goes week by week.

3

What it will not do

It will not tell you your ex is coming back, or that they are not. Nobody can know that from one side. It will not write messages meant to make them jealous, guilty or worried, or help you reach someone who blocked you or asked for no contact.

It does not diagnose your ex, and it will not decide for you. If you want them back, it helps you look at that honestly. If you are done, it helps you stay done.

4

When it stops being a breakup question

If your ex threatens you, follows you, keeps contacting you after you asked them to stop, or makes you afraid, the job is no longer what to say, and the chat will not write a message to them. In the US, the National Domestic Violence Hotline is 1-800-799-7233, or text START to 88788. If you are in danger right now, call 911. If you are having thoughts of hurting yourself or not wanting to be alive, call or text 988 first.

This chat, like the Lovon app, is for adults 18 and over. If you are younger, take this to an adult you trust.

Text here, voice in the app

This page is a text chat that runs for about ten messages, usually enough for one situation. The Lovon app takes the same approach by voice, which helps at the hour when you would rather say it out loud than send it to them. It is an AI there too, not a person. If you want to keep going, get the Lovon app.

Ready for More Personalized Support?

Lovon is AI mental health support by voice — a private conversation whenever you need one, with no appointment. It is not therapy and not a substitute for care from a licensed professional.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this AI breakup coach free?

Yes. The chat on this page is free to use, with no account, email or sign-up. A session runs about ten messages, which is usually enough to work through one situation, like whether to answer a text from your ex. If you would rather talk it through out loud, or keep going past that, the Lovon app takes the same approach by voice.

Is it a real person?

No. It is an AI, not a person and not a licensed professional. Each reply is written by the AI from what you typed in this conversation. It does not know you beyond that, and it does not know your ex at all, which is why anything it says about what they feel is labeled as a guess.

Can a breakup coach help me get my ex back?

Nobody can honestly promise that, human or AI, because it depends on a decision another person makes. Be careful with anyone who sells a sequence of texts or a guaranteed window. What a coach can do is help you look at why it ended and what has actually changed, stop sending messages you regret, and work out whether you want them back or want the hurting to stop. This chat will help with that, and it will not write messages meant to pressure, guilt or make them jealous.

Should I text my ex?

Start with what you want the message to do. If the honest answer is to find out whether they still care, or to feel better for an hour, it usually costs more than it gives, especially in the first weeks. If there is something practical to sort out, one short message in daylight is fine. If they asked you not to contact them or blocked you, the answer is no. The chat on this page asks that question first, then helps you either write something short or hold off.

What is the difference between a breakup coach and a therapist?

A therapist is licensed, trained to work with mental health conditions, and answers to a regulator. A breakup coach is not licensed anywhere in the US, and coaching is forward-looking and practical: this week, this text, this rule about contact. This chat is coaching, and it is an AI, not a person. If weeks go by and you still cannot sleep, eat or work, or the breakup has stirred up something older and heavier, a licensed therapist or your doctor is the right next step.

How long does it take to get over a breakup?

There is no fixed number, and anyone who gives you one made it up. It tends to take longer when contact keeps restarting, when you keep checking their profile, and when the relationship was long or your life was built around it. It tends to go faster when the gap is real and your weeks have other people in them. Most people notice it ending not when they stop thinking about the person, but when the thought shows up and does nothing to the rest of the day.

What happens to what I type here?

You do not need an account, email or sign-up. What you type goes to an AI so it can write the reply. On this site the conversation is not saved to an account, and it disappears from this page when you close the tab, so copy anything you want to keep. You can leave out names and any details that identify someone. The advice works the same without them.
