What this means

Your answers sit near the top of the scale, which means very little is currently holding across any of the three parts. That is a lot to carry, and it deserves to be treated as a real problem rather than reframed as being a giving person.

At this level the pattern is usually well established and self-maintaining. Limits either do not get stated or do not survive being stated, so the evidence accumulates that saying anything makes things worse. That conclusion feels like realism from the inside. It is more accurately a description of what happens when a limit is set once, under pressure, without a plan for the pushback that follows.

It is common in this range to have lost track of where you stop and other people begin. That sounds abstract until you try to answer a simple question and cannot: what do I want here, separately from what would keep everyone else steady. When the answer to that has been unavailable for years, boundaries are not really the first problem. Knowing what your own preference is comes before defending it.

The other common version at this score is the walled one. Nothing gets said, contact gets cut at the first crossing, and people are kept at a distance where they cannot cost you anything. That is not the opposite of a boundary problem. It is the same problem solved with a heavier tool.

None of this says anything about your worth as a person, and a high score is not a diagnosis of anything. It describes a set of habits that had reasons, most of which were formed somewhere they made sense.

What to do next

The honest recommendation at this score is to involve another person rather than doing it alone. A therapist is the usual answer, and this is squarely the kind of thing therapy is good at, because the work is as much about noticing what you want as about enforcing it.

If that is not available right now, start smaller than feels worthwhile. One low-stakes preference, stated out loud, in the moment, with no explanation attached. Where do you want to eat, which film, what time. The aim is to get the muscle of naming a preference working again before asking it to carry anything heavy.

And keep this distinction in view: if there is someone in your life for whom your no reliably produces anger, punishment or consequences you cannot absorb, that is a different situation from a boundary skill you have not learned, and it is worth describing to someone who can help you look at it directly.

Lovon is there to talk it through at any hour, as support between the harder conversations rather than a substitute for a professional.

Your result is a starting point: the conversation with Lovon AI Therapist is where it gets specific.

The statements are written by Lovon around the three parts described above. This is not a published research instrument and does not reproduce one. There are no clinical norms behind the five bands either. They are ranges for reading your own answers back to yourself, not percentiles against a population, and moving from one band to the next is not a meaningful clinical event. Nothing here is a diagnosis, and no online test can give you one.

One limit on what any of this can do. If naming a limit with a particular person leads to anger you have to manage, punishment, or consequences you cannot absorb, that is a different situation from a skill you have not learned yet, and it is worth describing to someone you trust or a professional who can look at the specifics with you.

If the pattern is more about needing everyone to be fine with you, the [am I a people pleaser quiz](/quiz/am-i-a-people-pleaser) covers that directly, and [am I codependent](/quiz/am-i-codependent) covers the version where the line disappears inside one relationship. When the hard boundary is with family, the [family boundary plan](/free-tools/app/family-boundary-plan) walks you through one specific limit and the wording to use.
