What this means
A score in this range means the three parts of emotional availability are mostly working at once. You can usually tell what you are feeling while you feel it, you say it close to when it happens, and when someone else is upset you can stay with them rather than manage the situation.
That combination is less common than it sounds, and it is not the same as being warm or easy to talk to. Plenty of people who are pleasant company score high on this scale, because being agreeable is one of the more effective ways to keep the actual feeling off the table. What the low range describes is narrower: the inside of you is reachable, by you and by the person closest to you.
Worth checking even here is whether the three parts are even. Access is knowing what you feel. Expression is saying it in time. Response is what you do when the feeling belongs to someone else. People are rarely equal across all three, and a low total can still hide one facet doing noticeably worse than the other two. Look back at which items you answered least well and see whether they cluster in one place.
The most common uneven shape in this range is strong access and expression with a weaker response: someone who knows their own inner weather and reports it accurately, then hears a partner say they are hurt and reaches straight for the fix. Solving is not a bad instinct. It is simply a different act from being with someone, and it lands as distance when company was what was wanted.
Something the score cannot see is conditions. Availability drops under sleep debt, work pressure, grief, and inside the specific relationships where being open once cost you something. A low score today describes now, not a permanent trait.
What to do next
Notice which of the three facets came back weakest and give that one something specific, rather than deciding to be more open in general.
If it is response, try one sentence before you help: ask whether the person wants ideas or wants you to listen, then do the one they name. It sounds mechanical the first time and stops sounding that way quickly.
If it is expression, shorten the delay before you increase the disclosure. Availability is largely a timing property, and a small accurate report on the day beats a large one a week later.
If it is access, keep naming states in single words even when nothing is wrong. The skill stays sharp through use rather than through insight.
Lovon is there when you want to think something through out loud before taking it to the person it concerns.
