Mild rejection sensitivity

What this means
You are in the mild range. Rejection registers more than it needs to, but it is not yet organising how you behave with people. Most of the cost at this level is internal: time spent rereading a message, a longer pause before you send something, a few asks you quietly decided not to make.
Mild scores usually come from one of the three parts running ahead of the others rather than all three rising together, so it is worth looking at which. The first common shape is heavy expecting with calm reacting — you assume the no, so you stop asking, and because nothing dramatic happens it never looks like a problem. The second is calm expecting with sharp reading — you go in without dread, then a flat reply lands hard and the rest of the day reorganises around it.
What makes this range worth acting on is direction rather than severity. The loop is slow here, but it does compound. Every ask you do not make removes a piece of evidence that would have contradicted the forecast, and every protective move gives the other person something to respond to. Several months of that is how people arrive in the ranges above.
One thing you still have at this level that gets harder higher up: you can usually tell the difference between your reading of a situation and the situation. That gap is the thing worth protecting.
What to do next
Find which of the three is highest before you do anything, because the right move is different for each.
If expecting is highest, the work is making small asks you have been avoiding and watching what actually happens. The forecast survives on never being tested.
If reading is highest, put a gap between the signal and the conclusion. When a reply is short, name one other explanation before you accept the first one. You are not arguing yourself out of a feeling, only declining to treat an interpretation as information.
If reacting is highest, the target is the twenty minutes after the trigger. That is where the sudden coolness or the extra messages happen, and it is the only part of the loop the other person actually sees.
Pick one and give it a few weeks. If the part that stalls is working out what to say, or you want to think through a message before you send it, Lovon can help you get the wording together first.
