Reading goes into care

What this means
Your answers sit at the low end of this scale, and two fairly different situations produce that. Either you do not read people all that sharply, or you read them well and what you read goes straight into care without stopping anywhere in between. Both give a low total, and they call for different things, so it is worth working out which one you are.
The scale scores three separate things. Accuracy is whether you can tell what someone feels and what would hurt them. Pull is whether their hurt actually moves you when you see it. Use is whether what you know about a person's soft spots ends up serving you in an argument. A low total means the third one is close to absent and the second is intact.
Accurate reading is not what this page is worried about. Knowing from your partner's face in the doorway that the meeting went badly is a good thing to be able to do. Knowing the one sentence that would end tonight's argument in your favour is also just knowledge. The question the scale asks is where the knowledge goes, and yours appears to be going toward the other person rather than toward winning.
The part worth testing
Conflict is where the link between reading and care gets tested, not quiet Tuesday evenings. Plenty of people who score low in a calm month can feel the pull of the other option at eleven at night, tired, losing, and certain they are right. If you have a memory of holding back a sentence you knew would land, that is the link working under load.
If you cannot remember ever being tempted, the likelier explanation is that you are not seeing the soft spots in the first place. That version is worth checking, because it looks identical on a total and is a completely different thing to live with. People close to a low reader tend to say they feel unseen. People close to someone in the first version say they feel safe saying awkward things out loud.
What to do next
Keep the small habit that produced this score, which is almost certainly the pause between noticing something and using it. It is a habit rather than a fixed trait, and it thins out under exhaustion and stored resentment. Fights after a bad week are where it goes first.
If you are unsure whether your total is low because you do not use what you read or because you do not read much, the empathy test on this site separates reading from feeling and will answer that faster than this one.
And if you came here because of something someone else is doing, this scale points at the wrong person. It only ever describes the answers you gave about yourself.
