All 10 rizz test scenarios

The moments and options in the test. Open any one to see what works there and why.

  1. 1. Dating app: You matched with someone whose profile says they just got back from a hiking trip. What's your first message?

    1. A. "Hey"
    2. B. "Okay, I need the full story of that hike. Best view or worst blister?"
    3. C. A GIF of a waving cat. Nothing else.
    4. D. "Hi! How's your week going?"
    What works here and why
    • A: Polite, but it gives them nothing to answer. "Hey" is where good matches go to nap.
    • B (smoothest): Specific, curious and easy to answer. It shows you actually read their profile.
    • C: Cute cat, but now they have to do all the work of starting the conversation.
    • D: Friendly and safe. A detail from their profile would make it stand out.
  2. 2. In person: At a friend's party, someone you've been wanting to talk to is standing by the snacks. You...

    1. A. Hover nearby and hope they start talking first.
    2. B. Say hi, give your name and ask how they know the host.
    3. C. Recite the best pick-up line you found online.
    4. D. Ask which snack is actually worth it, like it's a serious review.
    What works here and why
    • A: Respectful, but invisible. They can't read your mind from the chip bowl.
    • B: Classic for a reason: simple, clear, and it gives you both something to talk about.
    • C: Bold. It might get a laugh, but a line out of nowhere can feel like a performance.
    • D (smoothest): Funny, low pressure and about the moment you're both in. Top-tier rizz.
  3. 3. Texting: Your crush posts a story from a concert by a band you also love. You reply...

    1. A. "Wait, you like them too? What did they open with?"
    2. B. Like it and say nothing.
    3. C. Three fire emojis.
    4. D. A twelve-paragraph ranking of every album the band has made.
    What works here and why
    • A (smoothest): Shared interest plus an easy question. That's how a story reply turns into a conversation.
    • B: Safe and friendly, but a like is a nod, not a conversation.
    • C: Good energy. Add a question and it turns into a real chat.
    • D: Passion is great, but that's a lot to answer from a concert.
  4. 4. Texting: You sent a long, thoughtful message. They replied: "haha nice". You...

    1. A. Send another long message explaining the first one.
    2. B. Ask, "Are you mad at me?"
    3. C. Keep it short and light, and ask something easy to answer.
    4. D. Give it some space and come back later with something new.
    What works here and why
    • A: Doubling the length rarely helps. Match their energy instead.
    • B: Understandable, but jumping to worry puts a lot of weight on a short reply that may mean nothing.
    • C (smoothest): Matching their energy is reading the room, and an easy question gives them a reason to keep going.
    • D: Calm and respectful. Coming back later with something fun is a solid move.
  5. 5. First date: There's a long, awkward pause on your first date. You...

    1. A. Check your phone until it passes.
    2. B. Bring up something they said earlier: "Wait, you're learning guitar? How's that going?"
    3. C. Ask, "Okay, important question: what's the most overrated food?"
    4. D. Fill the silence with the story of your last breakup.
    What works here and why
    • A: The phone says "I'm bored", even when you're only nervous.
    • B (smoothest): Remembering a detail is quietly powerful. It shows you were listening.
    • C (smoothest): A silly question resets the mood, and food opinions are great fuel.
    • D: The ex talk can wait. Much longer than the pause.
  6. 6. In person: You've been chatting with someone at a bookstore, and they mention their partner. You...

    1. A. Suddenly remember somewhere you have to be and speed-walk away.
    2. B. Very loudly act like you were never flirting at all.
    3. C. Ask how they met and keep chatting like a friend.
    4. D. Recommend a book they could read together and wish them a good day.
    What works here and why
    • A: Understandable, and a little dramatic. You can just keep it friendly.
    • B: The "totally not flirting" act fools nobody. Relax, it's fine.
    • C (smoothest): Reading the room perfectly. A good conversation is still a good conversation.
    • D: Gracious and kind. You leave on a nice note.
  7. 7. In person: You're talking to someone at a coffee shop. They say, "I have to go, my class starts soon." You...

    1. A. Say "cool, cool, cool, cool" and wave until they're out the door.
    2. B. Say "Bye!" and hope fate brings them back.
    3. C. Tell them you're here every Tuesday at four, just so they know.
    4. D. "Go, don't be late! Want to swap numbers and finish this debate another time?"
    What works here and why
    • A: Respectful, if a little awkward. If it went well, a simple ask would've been fine.
    • B: Respectful, but fate is unreliable. If it went well, ask.
    • C: Points for honesty. A direct "want to swap numbers?" is less mysterious.
    • D (smoothest): You respect their time, you're clear, and you leave the door open. Easy for them to say yes or no.
  8. 8. Texting: You sent a joke that didn't land. They replied with just "?". You...

    1. A. Explain the joke in detail, with sources.
    2. B. Unsend it and pretend nothing happened.
    3. C. "Okay, that made sense in my head. Starting over: how was your day?"
    4. D. Send the same joke again, with more emojis.
    What works here and why
    • A: If a joke needs footnotes, let it go.
    • B: They already saw it. Owning it is funnier than hiding it.
    • C (smoothest): Laughing at yourself and moving on is peak rizz. It shows you're relaxed.
    • D: Bold strategy. Volume isn't the problem here.
  9. 9. In person: At a game night, a friend of a friend is quiet and hasn't said much. You...

    1. A. Include them with an easy question: "Are you team strategy or team chaos?"
    2. B. Ask them something big and personal to break the ice.
    3. C. Talk louder and funnier to the whole table so they notice you.
    4. D. Leave them alone so they don't feel put on the spot.
    What works here and why
    • A (smoothest): Small, fun and easy to answer. Quiet people often open up to a question like this.
    • B: Deep questions are great later. With a quiet person, start small.
    • C: The spotlight move. A one-on-one question usually works better than a show.
    • D: Kind, but a small, low-pressure question usually feels welcoming, not pushy.
  10. 10. Texting: You've had a few great conversations and want to ask them out. You text...

    1. A. "We should hang out sometime maybe idk"
    2. B. "I really like talking to you. Want to continue this over tacos on Thursday?"
    3. C. Nothing. Wait for them to ask you.
    4. D. Ask their best friend to find out if they like you.
    What works here and why
    • A: Vague asks get vague answers. Name a plan.
    • B (smoothest): Clear, warm and specific. It's easy to say yes, and easy to say no.
    • C: Patient, but if you both wait, nobody gets tacos.
    • D: Very middle school. Asking them directly is kinder and faster.

Rizz is slang for charm, especially the kind that helps you flirt: knowing what to say, how to say it and when to stop. The word comes from the middle of charisma, and Oxford University Press named rizz its Word of the Year for 2023. Rizz is not a pick-up line. It is curiosity, a bit of humor, respect and reading the room.

1

What does the rizz test measure?

Four things, the same four that make someone easy and fun to talk to. Curiosity is asking real questions and remembering what people said. Humor is being light, and being able to laugh at yourself when a joke flops. Respect is giving people room to say yes or no, and taking a no or a short reply in stride. Reading the room is matching someone's energy and noticing when they are busy, quiet or already taken.

Every option in the test scores zero to two on each of the four. Your rizz score out of 100 compares your picks with the smoothest pick in every moment, and the bars on the result show each trait on its own. Pushy moves score low on purpose. Awkward moves are not punished hard; they are just awkward, and everyone has made a few. The scores are a game built on what tends to land, not a scientific measurement, and nobody sees your answers but you.

2

What are the rizz levels?

There are five. Unspoken Rizz is 90 and up: curious, funny at the right moments, respectful, and good at knowing when to step back. Certified Rizzler is 75 to 89: real charm with a few safe picks. Low-Key Charmer is 55 to 74: kind and quiet charm that sometimes holds back. Awkward but Adorable is 35 to 54: right heart, timing still loading. Rizz Still Buffering is under 35, and it comes with the most useful tip of all. Every level gets one concrete thing to try next.

3

How can I improve my rizz?

Rizz is a set of habits, not a personality, so it gets better with practice. Five that make the biggest difference:

  • Ask one more question than feels natural, about something they just said.
  • Open with the moment you share: the song, the snack table, the line, the book in their hand.
  • Laugh at yourself first. A flopped joke followed by that made sense in my head is charming.
  • Match their energy. A short, light reply gets a short, light answer; a long one earns a long one.
  • Make the ask specific and easy to turn down: tacos on Thursday beats we should hang out sometime.
4

What is unspoken rizz?

Unspoken rizz is charm that works with hardly any words, when someone is magnetic just by how they listen, laugh and carry themselves. People also say W rizz for a move that works and L rizz for one that flops. In this test, Unspoken Rizz is the top level. You get there by picking the curious, funny and respectful move again and again, not by finding the perfect line.

5

Is rizz the same as a pick-up line?

No. A pick-up line is a script; rizz is everything that happens after it. Lines can still be fun as an icebreaker, and you can spin and rate 179 of them in Pick-Up Lines. If you are trying to work out whether someone is into you, the Do They Like Me quiz walks through the signs. How the Rizz Test works

Press Start. Each of the ten moments is something that really happens: a dating app opener, the snack table at a party, a reply to a concert story, a haha nice text, a pause on a first date, finding out they have a partner, a goodbye at a coffee shop, a joke that did not land, a quiet person at game night and finally asking someone out. Pick what you would actually do, then read why it lands or why it is awkward. At the end you get your rizz level, one tip and your strongest trait. The test is the same ten moments every time, so you can retake it, compare with friends and see what changed. If someone real is on your mind, Lovon, an AI voice companion app, lets you practice saying it out loud first.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does rizz mean?

Rizz means charm, especially the ability to flirt well or attract someone. It comes from the middle of the word charisma, and Oxford University Press chose it as its Word of the Year for 2023. You can have rizz, or rizz someone up.

How does the rizz test work?

You get 10 realistic texting and meeting moments, each with three or four things you could say or do. Every option is scored on curiosity, humor, respect and reading the room. Your picks add up to a rizz score out of 100 and one of five levels, each with a tip.

What is a good rizz score?

Anything from 55 up is solid: that is Low-Key Charmer or better. 75 and up is Certified Rizzler, and 90 or more is Unspoken Rizz. The score only counts your own picks, so treat it as a game, not a grade.

Can you learn rizz?

Yes. Rizz is mostly habits: asking real questions, laughing at yourself, matching the other person's energy and making a clear ask that is easy to turn down. Practice them in low-stakes chats and they start to feel natural.

What is unspoken rizz?

Unspoken rizz is charm that works with hardly any words, when someone is magnetic just by how they act. In this test it is the top level, for picks that are curious, funny at the right moments and respectful.

Is the rizz test for guys or girls?

Both, and everyone else too. The moments work whoever you like, and every option is respectful, so the test is fine for teens. Some options are just awkward, which is half the fun.
