What this means

All three beliefs came out high in your answers: that feelings are unwelcome, that they will not be understood, and that you are too much when you have them. When all three run together, the channel between you and your partner mostly closes. Not dramatically. The relationship can look calm, even pleasant. But the feelings that matter go somewhere else: to a friend, a notes app, your phone at two in the morning, or nowhere at all.

What stays between you is logistics, plans and the easy topics. Your partner may not know anything is missing, because from their side nothing has been withheld that they ever saw.

The confirmation trap

This is where a schema becomes self-sealing. Because nothing important gets said, nothing important gets met, and the absence of being met reads as proof that you would not have been. Some people with this combination start to test without meaning to. They say nothing and wait to see whether their partner notices something is wrong. Almost nobody passes that test, because it asks a person to respond to information they were never given. The failure goes into the file anyway.

It is worth being honest about the other possibility. Sometimes the schema is accurate about this specific person. If you have raised feelings in plain words and been met with contempt, mockery or punishment, the closed channel is protection, not distortion, and the question is about the relationship rather than your beliefs. Is my relationship healthy is a better place to look at that.

To tell which it is, think of the last three times you said something unedited to this partner. If you cannot find three, the schema is running on old evidence, and you do not yet know what this person would do.

What to do next

Start very small and very concrete. Pick one minor feeling, the least risky one available, and say it in one sentence within a day. "I was disappointed we didn't go out on Saturday." That is the whole exercise. Then note what actually happened, not what you feared.

Notice where your feelings go now, and move one. If a friend hears everything first, let your partner hear one thing first this week.

Bring in someone who is not your partner. A pattern that has closed this far was usually learned somewhere it made sense, and a therapist is well placed to help you look at where. Lovon is there at any hour for the unedited version, as support alongside that, not instead of it.

From the wiki

The items on this test are written by Lovon around the construct described above. It is not the Relationship Emotional Schema Scale or any schema therapy questionnaire, and it does not reproduce the wording of any published measure.

There are no clinical norms behind the results. They describe which belief leads in your own answers, not where you sit against a population, and nothing here is a diagnosis.

If a partner meets your feelings with threats, punishment or fear, that is a safety question rather than a belief to work on, and it is worth talking to someone you trust or a domestic violence service.
