There is a pause before you act

What this means
None of the three kinds of impulsivity this test scores stands out in your answers. You tend to sleep on decisions that matter and check what new ideas will cost before you start them. You mostly let people finish, and you think about how sensitive things will land before you say them. And when something exciting but risky comes up, you weigh it before you join in.
That pause is the core of what impulse control means: not the absence of urges, but a gap between the urge and the action, long enough for the thinking to catch up. Everyone has impulses. People with a pause built in still get the urge to buy, say or try something. They just get a moment to decide.
Where it can still slip
Impulsivity is very sensitive to state. Tiredness, alcohol, strong emotion, hunger and stress all shorten the pause, often without you noticing. Someone who is careful on an ordinary Tuesday can be very different at midnight after a hard day. If the impulsive moments you do remember from the past month cluster at those times, that is your pattern.
It can also be uneven. You may be deliberate with money and impulsive with words, or the other way round, and an overall result hides it. If one statement made you wince even though your result is calm, that area is worth watching.
And a pause can tip into the opposite problem. If you weigh everything so long that decisions never get made, or opportunities pass while you think, the difficulty is not impulsivity. It may be closer to overthinking, and the overthinking test looks at that loop.
What to do next
Notice what protects your pause. For most people with this result, it is a habit: a rule about large purchases, a draft folder for difficult messages, a "let me get back to you". Naming yours makes it easier to keep on a bad day.
Watch the high-risk times. If your impulsive moments happen mostly when you are tired, drinking or upset, plan for those times rather than relying on the pause to hold by itself.
Keep some room for spontaneity. A pause is for decisions that matter. It does not need to apply to which film to watch or whether to say yes to a walk, and people with a strong pause sometimes forget that.
If something is pulling at you and you want to think it through out loud before you act, Lovon can help you weigh it.
