No act to keep up

What this means
None of the three signs of hypermasculinity runs high in your answers. You do not seem to take risks mainly to be seen taking them. Disrespect from a stranger does not need settling on the spot. And softness, in other men or in yourself, is not something you mock or hide.
It is worth being precise about what that says. It does not say you are less of a man, or that you are not brave, competitive or strong. Hypermasculinity is not a measure of masculinity. It measures how much of it is being performed for an audience, and how much it depends on making something or someone else smaller. Courage that shows up when it is needed is not on this scale. Risk taken for the look of it is.
What a low score does not mean
It does not mean the pressure is absent. Most men spend time in groups that reward the act: a team, a crew, a group chat, a workplace where whoever backs down first gets remembered. A low score usually means you have learned to let some of that pass without biting, not that you never feel the pull.
It also does not mean every relationship is fine. The scale is narrow. Plenty of men who score low here still run quieter rules at home: shutting down instead of saying what is wrong, needing the last word, handling everything alone. If that sounds more familiar, the toxic masculinity test covers those rules, and they are a different pattern from this one.
Where it tends to slip
The act usually comes back in particular rooms. Drinking with a certain group. A bachelor party. A job where the culture rewards it. Being challenged in front of a partner or a child. Many men who land here can name the one setting where they hear themselves talking differently, and it helps to know which one that is for you.
Threats to standing are the other trigger. Losing a job, earning less than a partner, a breakup: when the usual sources of status wobble, a harder version of you can show up for a while, and it often fades once things settle.
What to do next
Keep the version of you that does not need an audience. Notice the setting where it usually slips, and leave a little earlier or drink a little less there.
If you are raising or coaching boys, say out loud what you already do: that walking away from a dare or a fight can be the stronger move.
If there is a conversation with someone in your life that the old act has been getting in the way of, Lovon can help you plan the first few sentences.
